Turf is only as good as what is underneath it. We clear the old surface, rotavate, remove stones and roots, bring in screened topsoil where needed, level and firm the ground, then lay fresh cut turf the day it arrives. It roots in a couple of weeks and looks like it has always been there.

When is the best time to lay turf?
Spring and autumn are ideal, but turf can be laid most of the year as long as the ground is not frozen or bone dry. Summer laying just needs more watering.
How much does turfing cost in Sheffield?
It depends on the size and how much ground preparation is needed. We quote for the whole job including prep, topsoil and turf so there are no surprises.
How long until I can walk on it?
Keep off it for two to three weeks while it roots, then it is ready to use.
Turf or artificial grass?
Real turf is cheaper up front and feels great. Artificial is more up front but no mowing. We fit both and will tell you honestly which suits your garden.
